Taxi Cab Dream

I was watching Dr Oz the other day when I was home sick and he had dream specialists on his show.  I found some of the information they provided to be quite insightful and although I don’t typically remember my dreams I paid attention to some of the tips that one of the specialists gave.  First, when you remember a dream it is because you wake up in the middle of it so you need to make sure to wake up carefully.

1) Put a journal with a pen at your bedside.

2) Get a soft waking alarm, not a crazy loud buzzer.

3) Do not move when you wake up. The position you are in is the position you were dreaming in and the best position for dream recall.

I followed these tips this morning and was actually able to remember a dream I was having.  It was a bit strange so pardon the ambiguity “I was riding in the back seat of a taxi cab talking on my cell phone and taking pictures with my camera. While driving we passed a friend that was supposed to be picked up and I asked the cab driver to go back and the cab driver got angry and drove faster and did not go back.”  I was then awakened by my alarm.

Taxi

  • Accomplishing something, moving forward, or getting somewhere in the context of your life, with the help of someone else
  • The way you have moved forward during a certain time in your life
  • A transition between two events or phases (represented in the dream by the origin and the destination)

Cell Phone

To see or use a cell phone in your dream indicates that you are being receptive to new information. It also represents your mobility. Alternatively, the dream signifies lack of understanding. Perhaps you are having difficulties getting through to someone.

Camera

  • The idea of focusing on or examining someone or something
  • Remembering or a desire to remember
  • Capturing something in order to keep it or take it away with you, as a snapshot captures a moment, scene, or expression
  • Safe-keeping or keepsakes

Leaving Someone

  • An ending or a phase coming to a close in your real life
  • You standing up for yourself and making needed changes in your life
  • Guilt or feeling that you’re abandoning someone or something, such as your responsibilities

Once I made sense and remembered what happened I jotted it down and decided to look up the key points that may possibly mean something (to my life).  The specialist had also mentioned that dreams always have something to do with analyzing events of the previous day.  Right now, I have a LOT going on family wise, career wise, even education wise and since I have a better understanding of how dreams work this dream actually makes a lot of sense.  I used this website to decipher my dream http://www.thecuriousdreamer.com/dreamdictionary/ and maybe it can help you to decipher yours too! Good luck!

Thank you to all my family and friends for the overwhelming birthday wishes and cheer yesterday. I thank you many times over for all the birthday greetings! I also would like to thank everyone for their love, support, & encouragement through the midst of my recent crises and personal struggle.

In addition, I would like to thank everyone for a lovely birthday dinner last night it was nice to be able to get together with everyone for a couple hours and not have to worry about anything going on in life and just be present in the moment, I think we all needed that.

Some moments feel like our darkest and then something so overwhelmingly beautiful and awesome happens and you realize you are not alone. Wow, I am so not alone. I love you all thank you for making me feel so very special and loved. I REALLY NEEDED THAT!

<3 Happy birthday to me <3

Walked by the kitchen & Grandma was making croquettas with the left over turkey. The house smelled delicious for hours. There’s nothing like home cooking :-D

All of life is a journey; which paths we take, what we look back on, and what we look forward to is up to us. We determine our destination, what kind of road we will take to get there, and how happy we are when we get there.
